At Children's Hospital Boston, there are no limits to excellence when the lives of children are at stake. This is especially true when caring for critically ill children, from newborn to college age, who turn to us in desperate need of immediate help. The Center for the Critically Ill Child offers that help as part of the hospital's Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Serving as the largest referral center for the care of critically ill youngsters in the United States, it is also recognized as the largest center for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support in the region. Children's Hospital Boston's Division of Critical Care Medicine is committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and research in the field of pediatric critical care. The Children's Hospital League donated $1.5 million to the Center for the Critically Ill Child to enhance this commitment to compassionate and innovative care for children with life-threatening injuries and illnesses. |
